Skiing into the spring
Blue Mountain's lifts usually keep spinning into early spring — commonly through March, sometimes into early April, depending on snow each year. Always confirm closing dates and conditions directly with the resort before you travel. Spring skiing has real upsides: warmer, sunnier days, softer afternoon snow, livelier après, and noticeably fewer crowds and lower rates than the holiday peak. From our Mountain cluster you're a flat 10-minute walk to the Village and the base of the lifts, so a late-season group can roll out of the chalet and onto the hill in minutes. See the walkable chalets on the near-the-Village page.
Why a chalet is a great spring base
A whole chalet is hard to beat for a spring ski trip. After variable spring weather on the hill, every Blue View chalet has a private year-round hot tub to thaw out in, plus a gas fireplace, a full kitchen for hearty group dinners, a washer and dryer for damp gear, and free parking for four. A few add a sauna — steam at Luna and Prima, dry at Corona and Stella — a treat after a cold morning run. Because spring is shoulder season, you often get the whole property at better value than midwinter. Planning with friends? See our group ski page or compare the biggest layouts at chalets that sleep 14.
Beyond the slopes in spring
Spring at Blue Mountain isn't only about the last runs. As the snow softens, the Village and the wider Collingwood and Georgian Bay area open up: hiking and biking trails dry out, the breweries, cideries and restaurants buzz, and golf at Monterra — directly across from the cluster — gets going. It's a great time for a mixed group where not everyone skis: some hit the slopes while others explore. For ideas, see our things to do guide and the local dining roundup. Related questions
How late into spring can you ski Blue Mountain?
The season usually runs through March and sometimes into early April, depending on snow and weather. Closing dates change each year, so check the resort's live conditions before you book.
Are the chalets close to the lifts for spring skiing?
Yes, the eight Mountain-cluster chalets are a 10-minute walk to Blue Mountain Village and the base of the lifts. They're not ski-in/ski-out, but the short, flat walk makes a quick day on the hill easy.
Is spring cheaper than peak winter for a chalet?
Generally yes. Spring is shoulder season with lower rates and fewer crowds than the holiday and March Break peaks, so you often get the whole chalet at better value. Check live rates on the booking page.
