Short-Term Rental Licensing
All Blue View Chalets properties are licensed short-term rental accommodations operating in compliance with The Town of Blue Mountains Short-Term Accommodation By-law. Our properties are regularly inspected and meet all municipal requirements for safety and occupancy.
Our license numbers are available upon request and are displayed at each property in accordance with local regulations.
Property Standards
Our chalets comply with:
- Ontario Building Code requirements
- Ontario Fire Code regulations
- Town of Blue Mountains Property Standards By-law
- Public Health Unit requirements for pool and hot tub operation
- Electrical Safety Authority standards
Safety Equipment
Each chalet is equipped with:
- Working smoke detectors on every level
- Carbon monoxide detectors
- Fire extinguishers
- Emergency exit signage
- First aid kit
- Emergency contact information
Pool & Hot Tub Disclosure
Our shared pool (available seasonally, typically May through October) and private hot tubs are maintained according to Public Health Unit guidelines. Regular water testing and chemical balancing is performed to ensure safe operation.
Important Pool & Hot Tub Safety Information:
- No lifeguard on duty — swim at your own risk
- Children must be supervised at all times
- Glass containers are prohibited in pool and hot tub areas
- Maximum hot tub temperature is set to 104°F (40°C)
- Hot tub use is not recommended for pregnant women, individuals with heart conditions, or those under the influence of alcohol
- Pool availability is subject to weather conditions and Health Unit approval
Occupancy Limits
Maximum occupancy limits are established by The Town of Blue Mountains STA By-law NO. 2013-50 and are strictly enforced for safety and community compliance. These limits include all individuals staying overnight, regardless of age.
- Vista, 44L: Maximum 10 occupants
- All other chalets: Maximum 12 occupants
Noise By-law Compliance
All guests must comply with The Town of Blue Mountains Noise By-law NO. 2002-09. This by-law prohibits noise that disturbs neighbours at any time of day or night. Violations may result in security deposit forfeiture and potential fines from the Ontario Provincial Police.
Our properties are located in residential neighbourhoods where quiet enjoyment is expected by all residents and guests.
Pet-Friendly Properties
Select chalets are pet-friendly. Pet-friendly designations are indicated on individual property listings. Guests bringing pets must:
- Declare pets at the time of booking
- Keep pets off furniture, beds, and out of pools/hot tubs
- Clean up after pets on property and surrounding areas
- Ensure pets do not disturb neighbours
- Accept responsibility for any damage caused by pets
Insurance & Liability
Blue View Chalets maintains comprehensive commercial liability insurance for our properties. However, guests are responsible for their own personal belongings and are encouraged to consider travel insurance to protect against unforeseen circumstances.
We are not responsible for loss, theft, or damage to guest personal property during your stay.
Environmental Practices
We are committed to sustainable operations and encourage guests to:
- Use recycling and composting facilities provided
- Conserve water and energy during your stay
- Dispose of waste responsibly
- Respect the natural environment and wildlife
Third-Party Services
Our booking services are provided through HolidayFuture.com, a third-party reservation platform. Bookings made through this platform are subject to their terms of service in addition to our policies.
We may recommend local services, restaurants, and attractions to enhance your stay. These recommendations are provided for convenience only, and we do not receive compensation for referrals unless specifically disclosed.
