Is a Village condo or a private chalet better for a Blue Mountain ski group?

Short answer
For most ski groups, a private chalet beats a Village condo. A condo puts you in the action but usually means shared walls, less space and limited parking. A Blue View chalet is a whole property — up to 5 bedrooms, a full kitchen, a private year-round hot tub, gas fireplace and free parking for four — a 10-minute walk to the lifts, with chalets that combine so everyone stays together.

Space, privacy and staying together

A ski group of 12–14 booked into Village condos often ends up split across separate units on different floors, with shared corridors and no common space. A single Blue View chalet keeps everyone under one roof: up to five bedrooms (four in Vista), an open-concept living area, and a full kitchen so the group can cook breakfast before the lifts and dinner after. For bigger parties, the adjacent chalets combine — two for ~28 guests, up to 80+ across all eight — so each family has a private chalet on one shared property, something a block of separate condos can't replicate.

After-ski comfort a condo rarely matches

The end-of-day payoff is where chalets pull ahead. Every Blue View chalet has a private year-round hot tub and a gas fireplace — soak and warm up without queuing for a shared resort facility. Several add a sauna for sore legs: Luna and Prima have a steam sauna, while Corona and Stella have a dry cedar sauna (compare on the chalets-with-sauna page). You also get free parking for four vehicles — a real advantage for a driving ski group, where Village condo parking is often limited or paid. Add a washer/dryer for wet gear and you have a setup built for ski weekends.

The trade-off — and why the walk is worth it

A Village condo's edge is being steps from the lifts and nightlife. But Blue View's cluster is a 10-minute walk to Blue Mountain Village and the lifts, so you're still close to après and dinner — you just trade a couple of minutes on foot for a whole private property, free parking and quiet evenings away from the crowds. To be clear, we're not slopeside ski-in/ski-out; you walk to the lifts. For a group, the math usually favours the chalet on both space and value. Related questions

Are Blue View chalets ski-in/ski-out like some Village condos?

No. None of our chalets are slopeside ski-in/ski-out. The cluster is a 10-minute walk to Blue Mountain Village and the lifts, so you walk to the slopes — with free parking and a private hot tub waiting at home.

Is parking easier at a chalet than a Village condo?

Generally yes. Every Blue View chalet includes free parking for four vehicles, which suits a driving ski group. Village condo parking is often limited or paid.

Can a ski group of 28 stay in one chalet?

Not in one — but two adjacent cluster chalets combine to host roughly 28 guests, each family in its own private chalet on one shared property. Larger groups can add more, up to 80+ across all eight. Request a group quote to coordinate.
