Blue Mountain Packing List for Every Season

Published: January 8, 2026 | 7 min read

Packing for Blue Mountain requires thinking about the season, your planned activities, and the fact that mountain weather can be unpredictable. This guide covers what to pack for every season so you arrive prepared and avoid buying things you forgot at resort-area prices.

Universal Packing List (Every Season)

These items belong in your bag regardless of when you visit:

Clothing Basics - Comfortable indoor clothes and loungewear for the chalet - Sleepwear - Undergarments and socks for each day plus spares - A light jacket or hoodie (chalets are warm, but evenings can be cool)

Toiletries and Health - Prescription medications - Pain relievers (ibuprofen for active-day soreness) - Sunscreen (yes, even in winter — snow reflects UV light) - Lip balm with SPF - Basic first aid supplies (bandages, antiseptic) - Personal hygiene items

Entertainment - Board games, card games, or puzzles for chalet evenings - Books or e-reader - Phone chargers and portable battery packs - Bluetooth speaker for music (though our chalets have sound systems)

Kitchen and Food - Coffee, tea, or hot chocolate if you have preferred brands - Snacks for the drive and activities - Special dietary items that may be hard to find locally - A reusable water bottle for each person

Miscellaneous - Camera or phone with good camera - Cash (some smaller vendors and parking are cash-only) - A backpack or day pack for carrying supplies during activities

Winter Packing List (December to March)

For the Slopes - Ski or snowboard jacket (waterproof and insulated) - Ski or snowboard pants (waterproof) - Thermal base layers (moisture-wicking, not cotton) — 2 to 3 sets - Mid-layer fleece or light down jacket - Ski socks (wool or synthetic blend, calf-height) — 3 pairs - Helmet - Goggles (clear or yellow lens for cloudy or night conditions) - Waterproof gloves or mittens - Neck gaiter or balaclava - Hand and toe warmers

For General Winter Wear - Winter parka or jacket for non-skiing activities - Winter boots for walking (separate from ski boots) - Warm hat and everyday gloves - Scarf

Swimwear - Swimsuit for the hot tub (do not forget this in winter) - A towel for the hot tub (chalets provide towels, but having your own outdoor towel is convenient)

Spring Packing List (April to May)

Spring at Blue Mountain is unpredictable. You might experience warm sun, cold rain, and even late snow in the same weekend.

Clothing - Layerable clothing (temperatures can swing 15+ degrees in a single day) - A waterproof rain jacket - Waterproof hiking boots or shoes - Light sweater or fleece - One warm outfit for cool evenings

Activity Gear - Hiking shoes with good traction (trails can be muddy) - Gaiters if hiking wet trails - Insect repellent (black flies emerge in late April)

Summer Packing List (June to August)

Clothing - Shorts and light pants - T-shirts and tank tops - Light rain jacket (summer thunderstorms are common) - Swimsuit (for beach and hot tub) - Sandals and closed-toe shoes - A light sweater for evenings

Activity Gear - Hiking shoes - Bike helmet if you plan to ride - Water shoes for rocky beaches - Sunglasses - Sun hat

Beach Supplies - Beach towels - Beach umbrella or shade tent - Sand toys for children - Cooler for beach snacks and drinks

Fall Packing List (September to November)

Clothing - Layerable clothing (warm days, cool evenings) - Fleece or light down jacket - Waterproof outer layer - Comfortable hiking shoes - Warm hat and gloves for late October and November - Long pants for hiking (protection from ticks)

Photography Gear - Camera with charged batteries and empty memory cards - Fall foliage demands good photography — even if that is just your phone
