Are Blue Mountain chalets good for small groups?

Friends celebrating together at a winter dinner table – Are Blue Mountain Chalets Good for Small Groups? Ontario
Short answer
Yes, as long as the group wants a whole house rather than a room. Blue View's smallest chalets are three 4-bedroom homes rated for ten guests: Vista at 104 Brooker Boulevard, 44L in Tyrolean Village and Aqua Villa on Georgian Bay, compared side by side on the chalets for a group of eight page. The caveat is that each chalet is rented whole, so four people book the same house as ten.

The three Blue View chalets sized for a small group

The Vista has two queen bedrooms on the main level, a bunk room with two single bunks and a room with two single beds, plus three bathrooms. It is the only small chalet with the 10-minute walk to Blue Mountain Village and the shared seasonal pool on the lot.

The 44L is a vintage chalet built in the 1950s in Tyrolean Village, a 5-minute drive from the resort, with three queen bedrooms, one bunk room, two bathrooms and a fireplace. Its guests use the pool at 104 Brooker Boulevard, a short drive away.

Aqua Villa sits on Georgian Bay with three queen bedrooms, a twin room, four bathrooms, a dining table for eight and a hot tub on the balcony facing the water.

What four to eight people get from a whole Blue Mountain chalet

Everyone fits in the hot tub at once, because each tub takes eight. Couples get a bedroom door each, and the bunk or twin room can hold the bags or stay empty. A full kitchen lets a small group cook the meals it wants instead of booking every dinner, and four parking spaces mean nobody has to share a car.

A dog can come too: every chalet is pet-friendly, with a pet fee and one dog as the standard. The space also absorbs a change of plan, since a group of six can say yes to two late additions without changing the booking.

When a small group should think twice about a chalet

The two-night minimum applies whatever the headcount, and holiday weekends carry longer minimums. Check-in is 4 p.m. and checkout 11 a.m. Day visitors are not permitted, so friends staying elsewhere cannot drop in for the evening. The rental includes linens, towels and cleaning after checkout.

If the group is two people, read our romantic getaway answer first; it is honest about how much house a couple gets. If the dates are flexible, midweek rentals are the easier dates to secure for a small party.

Related questions

Is there a minimum number of guests?

Our policies set maximum occupancy for each chalet, not a minimum. If your group is very small, ask us before booking.

Which small-group chalet has the most bathrooms?

Aqua Villa, with four for its four bedrooms. The Vista has three and the 44L two.

Can a group of six book a five-bedroom chalet instead?

Yes. The five-bedroom chalets sleep 12 to 14 and add a fifth bedroom; at Corona, Stella, Luna and Prima they add a sauna or steam room too.
