Do I need a car to stay at a Blue Mountain chalet?

Short answer
You can manage a Village-focused stay car-free from our Mountain-cluster chalets — they're a 10-minute walk to Blue Mountain Village and the lifts. But for groceries, restaurants beyond the Village, beaches, golf and wineries, a car is strongly recommended, and it's essential at Aqua Villa and 44L, both a 5-minute drive out. We don't run a shuttle; every chalet has free parking for four.

Without a car: the walkable Village stay

If your plans center on Blue Mountain Village, our eight Mountain-cluster chalets on Brooker Boulevard put you a flat 10-minute walk from the lifts, restaurants, shops and nightlife. For a winter ski weekend where you arrive, drop the car, and spend days on the hill and evenings in the Village, you can largely leave it parked. Each chalet has a fully stocked kitchen, so you needn't eat out every meal. It's a genuinely walkable base — just not ski-in/ski-out, so you walk to the lifts rather than ski to the door.

Why most guests still want a car

We don't operate a shuttle or transportation service, and the region's best bits are spread out: full grocery stores and most restaurants are in Collingwood (about 15 minutes away), while the golf courses, wineries, breweries, Scandinave Spa and Georgian Bay beaches all need a short drive. A car opens up the whole area and makes the arrival grocery run easy. Aqua Villa on the bay and 44L in Tyrolean Village are a 5-minute drive from the resort, so a vehicle is essential there. See what's worth the drive on our things-to-do page.

Parking and groups

Every chalet includes free parking for four vehicles — a real edge over Village condos, where parking is often paid or capped. For a larger group taking several adjacent Mountain-cluster chalets, that scales: two chalets means about eight spaces, all on one property. If some of your party flies in and others drive, the walkable Village location means non-drivers aren't stuck. Check live availability and rates on the booking page, or plan a multi-vehicle stay via group bookings.
