Snowboarders enjoying a sunny day on the mountain – Does Collingwood Have a Beach? Ontario Waterfront Guide
Short answer
Yes. Collingwood's town beach is Sunset Point, which the Town lists as Sunset Point Beach / Black Rock, with a designated swim area at the east end of Sunset Point Park, plus washrooms, a canteen area and volleyball courts. It is a waterfront park rather than a long sandy strand. Groups who want Collingwood close by book from the Collingwood chalet collection, about fifteen to twenty minutes from the shore.

Sunset Point Beach, Collingwood’s main swimming spot

Sunset Point Park runs along St. Lawrence Street between Huron and Russell Streets. The Town divides it into three areas it can book outside the summer: the Inukshuk in the centre, Rotary Park at the west end, and the Swim Area at the east end. Amenities listed by the Town include green space, volleyball courts, access to waterfront trails, a canteen area and washrooms, and a playground themed on Collingwood landmarks.

Paid parking applies seasonally, seven days a week, from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. The park is about twenty minutes from the Blue View chalets; our Sunset Point visit page covers the approach.

Other Collingwood waterfront parks and what they are for

The rest of Collingwood's shore is better for walking than swimming. Harbourview Park links a wetland boardwalk with the Georgian Trail, Millennium Park looks across the harbour toward Blue Mountain, and Whites Bay Park connects to a breakwall boardwalk; the Town's listing for Whites Bay does not establish a swimming area.

Our answer on whether Collingwood is worth a day trip builds those parks into a full day with the downtown. In summer the Town's Live Original concert series has used the Shipyards Amphitheatre near the harbour, which pairs well with an evening on the waterfront after a day at the beach.

Sandier beaches within a short drive of the chalets

If the group wants sand, the closest option is Northwinds Beach in The Blue Mountains, which the Town describes as a sandy waterfront park; it is ten minutes from the Mountain cluster and five from Aqua Villa. Wasaga Beach, the region's long sandy beach, is about thirty-nine minutes from the chalets, covered in our Wasaga Beach day trip.

Aqua Villa has a sandy public beach steps from the door, so a waterfront base removes the drive entirely. Our beach answer lists the shoreline options in order of distance.
