Hiking the Escarpment and beyond
The Niagara Escarpment — a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve — rises right behind Blue Mountain, and the famous Bruce Trail threads along its top with sweeping views over Georgian Bay. Closer in, the resort and surrounding conservation areas offer well-marked loops, while Scenic Caves and Pretty River Valley add caves, lookouts, and waterfalls. From our Mountain-cluster chalets at 104 Brooker Blvd, several trailheads are a short walk or a few minutes' drive. After a long hike, every chalet has a private year-round hot tub waiting. Map out routes and viewpoints on our things-to-do guide.
Biking — paved trails and the bike park
For cyclists, the paved Georgian Trail runs roughly 30 km along the old rail line between Collingwood and Meaford, hugging the bay — flat, family-friendly, and ideal for an easy group ride. Mountain bikers can head to the resort's lift-served bike park in summer for downhill and cross-country terrain, or explore the gravel and forest roads across the Escarpment. Downtown Collingwood has rental shops if your group travels light. Groups basing on the water at Aqua Villa can roll onto the Georgian Trail almost from the door.
Trails for every group and season
The mix of terrain means there's something for casual walkers and serious riders alike — gentle waterfront paths, family loops near the Village, and demanding Escarpment climbs. In winter, many of the same routes become snowshoe and Nordic-ski trails, so the chalets work as a trail base year-round. Larger groups can book several adjacent chalets at the Mountain cluster, fan out by ability, then regroup at the shared seasonal pool and gas firepits. See the location overview for how the chalets sit relative to the main trail networks.
