Is Blue Mountain busy during March Break?

The pressure lands in predictable places: the popular chairlifts in the first hours, lessons and rentals worth booking ahead, Village dinner tables at the usual times, and the lots closest to the base. The Blue Mountain Village Association runs a March Break programme in the Village; the 2026 edition ran March 13 to 22, and the 2027 dates are for the organizer to announce.

The closing weekend has an extra draw. The organizer of 24h Blue MTN lists March 19 to 21, 2027, which overlaps the Friday of the break. Highway traffic follows the school calendar as well, with the heaviest drive north on the first Friday evening and south on the last Sunday afternoon.

Ski the first hours, when the hill is at its emptiest, and treat the middle of the day as lunch-at-the-chalet time. From the eight cluster chalets the Village is a 10-minute walk, which takes the parking question away entirely. Book dinners out before you arrive and cook the rest; the chalet kitchen is built for a week of family meals.

Break-week dates go early, often months ahead, because every family wants the same five days. The standard minimum is two nights, but most families take the full week or the weekend either side.
