What town is Blue Mountain in?

Three similar names cover three different things. Blue Mountain is the ski resort and the section of the Niagara Escarpment it sits on. Blue Mountain Village is the pedestrian resort village at its base — shops, restaurants and hotels, not an incorporated town. Both sit inside the Town of The Blue Mountains, the municipality in Grey County that stretches along the Georgian Bay shoreline and includes communities like Thornbury and Craigleith. Collingwood is a separate town in Simcoe County, roughly 11 km east of the resort — about 15 minutes by car. It has the area's biggest downtown, grocery stores and services, so most Blue Mountain trips include a Collingwood stop, and locals often use "Collingwood" as shorthand for the whole region.
