The 45-minute question for Wasaga Stars games
Do the arithmetic before booking. With a 7:00 a.m. game and a one-hour arrival request, players must be at the arena by 6:00, so cars leave the chalet by 5:15 at the latest. Two early games on consecutive days make that a hard weekend for young players. One game a day, or afternoon starts, make it easy.
The estimates are 33.6 km from 104 Brooker Boulevard, 34.2 km from 44L and 32.7 km from Aqua Villa. They assume clear roads, so add time in snow.
Two ice pads: rink assignments at the Wasaga complex
The current complex opened in January 2024 with two ice pads, replacing the old River Road West arena. Old posters and map searches can still show the former address. Send 544 River Road West to every driver, plus the rink assignment, so a grandparent driving separately does not end up at a closed building.
Between games, a family can spend the gap in town; the Wasaga Beach day-trip guide has ideas. That is easier than a 90-minute round trip to the chalet for a short break.
Why a Wasaga Stars team still picks a chalet weekend
Teams accept the drive for the weekend around the games: siblings ski or visit the Village, parents get a kitchen and a hot tub, and the whole group sleeps on one lot. The Brooker chalets sleep 10 to 14 each, and Luna and Prima, the largest neighbouring pair, sleep 28.
The house rules travel with the booking. Each chalet keeps four parking spaces, the noise bylaw applies at all hours, and only registered overnight guests may be at the chalets. For bigger team blocks, see the hockey tournament teams page, and for the stay itself, the two-night minimum covers a Friday-to-Sunday tournament.
