Where should a reunion with young children stay for Valley Ridge Family Farm?

The self-guided farm visit runs one to three hours with a map of animal stations, a scavenger hunt and a walking trail, and visitors may bring a picnic, which the chalet kitchen can supply. The horse-drawn wagon ride lasts about forty minutes, and the farm asks visitors to allow an hour on site; it runs in summer and fall, weather permitting. The covered wagon holds up to fifteen people, so a reunion of 26 needs two rides or a split between the wagon and the self-guided visit.

Omega and Vega side by side give ten bedrooms and 26 beds, with four bunk rooms between them for the children. Luna and Prima give ten bedrooms for 28 with a steam room in each house; Corona and Stella give ten for 26 with a dry sauna in each. Every chalet keeps its own full kitchen and private hot tub, so each branch has its own home while sharing the lot, and the pool runs May to mid-September. Fifteen minutes each way makes the farm a morning outing with lunch back at the chalet, or a picnic on the farm and naps in the afternoon. Valley Ridge is also the owners’ home, so keep children out of areas marked private. If the reunion wants family photographs with animals, raise it when booking, because animal participation needs advance discussion with the farm.

Check-in is at 4:00 pm, so the farm belongs on the first full day. A Saturday morning visit leaves the afternoon for the pool or a rest, and the evening for one big meal in whichever chalet has the larger table. Relatives who live nearby can meet you at the farm, but day visitors are not permitted at the chalets.
