A climbing group trip of twelve at Stella

Stella, unit 6, sleeps 12 in five bedrooms: three queen rooms, a bunk room with a single-over-double and a single, and a twin room with two singles. Its dry sauna is the reason climbers pick it, along with an in-unit washer and dryer and a kitchen that lists a freezer and baking sheets. A group of up to 26 adds Luna next door, which has a steam room; Stella and Luna together book as two chalets on two live calendars. No chalet lists a gear room or lockers, so ropes and racks stay with their owners. Stella is a 10-minute walk from Blue Mountain Village for dinner after a rock day.

Metcalfe Rock for a climbing group: outfitter day or walking visit

Metcalfe Rock near Ravenna supports two different days: a walking outing on the escarpment, and climbing experiences arranged separately through an outfitter. Choose first, because the preparation and meeting point differ. Our estimate of about 25 minutes from the cluster (30 from 44L and Aqua Villa) runs to the trail access point; a booked activity uses the outfitter’s meeting place. When the lot is full, Grey County asks visitors not to park on the road and walk in, so carpool. In winter the Town does not clear snow from the parking area. Where to stay for climbing at Metcalfe Rock has the day plan.

Rock a climbing group should leave alone

Cliffs near Blue Mountain are not all open to climbers. Duncan Escarpment Provincial Park is a nature reserve where Ontario Parks prohibits rock climbing and camping; it is a walk on the Bruce Trail and nothing more. Petun Conservation Area’s cliffs, rock faces and crevices are described as hiking terrain, and we hold no climbing permission for them, so treat that visit as a hike. Access rules come from each land manager; when the answer is unclear, a guided outing is the safer plan.

Lumber Lanes and ropes courses for a climbing group with kids

Lumber Lanes is the resort’s outdoor climbing wall, about 12 metres high with several routes, about five minutes by car to the P1 South lot before the walk in. Climbers must be at least three and weigh 18 to 113 kg, and children aged three to twelve need an accompanying adult of 18 or older. Timber Challenge, the high-ropes network nearby, asks children aged ten to twelve to bring an adult, with no more than two children per adult. Both are separate tickets from the chalet booking.
