The Mountain Property is built for exactly this — eight chalets on one site, bookable in blocks, so a 40–50 person gathering takes four chalets and organizes itself by household instead of by room number. Nobody drives between venues; the farthest anyone sleeps from the group is a one-minute walk.

The three largest chalets together sleep 42 — enough for a tight 40 but nothing spare. Four chalets is the honest answer for this band: the four largest sleep 56, comfortably covering 50 with room for the late additions every reunion attracts. Households divide naturally — grandparents and one family here, two families there — with each chalet’s exact bed layout published on its page for the planning spreadsheet.

Feeding and gathering fifty

Meals at this scale run federated, not central: four kitchens each feed their own chalet for breakfasts, and the one or two all-hands meals of the weekend go potluck-style across the biggest chalet plus the outdoor space — gas firepits year-round, the shared heated pool from May to mid-September. Outdoors, yes — the firepit area and (in season) the pool are the natural all-hands spaces, and the largest chalet hosts the indoor gatherings in shifts of comfort rather than all seated at once.

How do we split costs across families?

Most reunions assign each household a chalet and each pays its own, with the shared extras split separately. We can structure the block either way — one payer or several.

What if we grow past 50?
