The Creemore Vertical Challenge is scheduled for October 17, 2026, with 14 km, 27.5 km, 55 km and 80 km options. The start and finish are at Mad River Park, but the organizer directs parking to Creemore Arena. Choose the chalet nights around the entered distance, its collection window and the time your household wants after the race.

Match the Creemore departure plan to the entered distance

The organizer’s race instructions give separate start and kit-collection times. The 80 km event begins at 7 am and requires a headlamp; shorter distances start later. Obtain the instructions for the entry you actually hold before deciding when everyone must leave the accommodation.

Arrange breakfast and equipment the evening before. Travelling supporters need their own plan, particularly when runners from the same household enter different distances. A long event day may justify keeping the following evening free for a meal and rest at the chalet rather than committing the entire group to another outing.

Allow for the walk from Creemore Arena to Mad River Park

The race page says there is no parking at Mad River Park and directs participants to the arena on Collingwood Street, about a five-to-ten-minute walk away. It also asks visitors to avoid Mill Street and the Station on the Green market parking area. Read any final event update before travelling.

The Creemore Arena guide identifies the arena approach. Build the walk and kit collection into the morning instead of treating arrival in a parking space as arrival at the start. Keep spare clothing and the return-car arrangement clear for runners finishing at different times.

Use an autumn chalet base without treating the course as a public trail

Some race sections cross private land with permission for the event. Do not use the full race course for an independent training outing. Choose a public route separately if accompanying guests want a walk, using the Creemore visitor guide for broader town plans.

Compare autumn chalet accommodation by the complete overnight party and its bedroom needs. Before reserving, confirm race entry and decide whether the household wants to arrive the night before and stay after the finish. The race-weekend planning guide helps organize those accommodation decisions around the actual event commitment.
