The Mayor’s Golf Challenge Cup is an annual tournament hosted by the Town of Collingwood, with proceeds going to Collingwood & Area Special Olympics and the town’s community grants. The 27th tournament was played on Thursday, July 23, 2026 at Blue Mountain Golf & Country Club as an 11 a.m. shotgun for groups of four, and registration closed at capacity. A visiting foursome can turn the day into a two- or three-night golf trip.
How the Mayor’s Golf Challenge Cup day runs
A foursome coming from out of town can pair the tournament with our chalets for golf group trips. The 2026 event page described an 18-hole shotgun start at 11 a.m. with groups of four, breakfast snacks on arrival, an on-course barbecue lunch, and dinner with an après-golf social hour from 4 p.m. Prize draws and the winners’ recognition came with the mayor’s speech.
The town says the tournament brings together local businesses, community leaders and residents. In 2026 registration closed once the field was full, so sign up through the town’s tournament page as soon as 2027 details appear.
Turning a Thursday tournament into a golf trip
A Thursday event fits a midweek stay: arrive Wednesday at 4 p.m., play a warm-up round, golf the tournament Thursday and leave Friday at 11 a.m., which meets the two-night minimum. Two foursomes fit comfortably in one chalet; Vista, for example, sleeps 10 across four bedrooms.
The Brooker chalets sit across from Monterra Golf, so an extra round needs almost no driving, and our golf course guide lists other options for Friday morning. Four parking spaces per chalet leave room for each car and its clubs.
Blue Mountain Golf & Country Club from the chalets
Our place check puts Blue Mountain Golf & Country Club, at 706 Tenth Line, about 15 minutes from 104 Brooker Boulevard. Dinner is part of the tournament day, so settle on a driver before the social hour starts.
