Owen Sound Festival of Northern Lights: An Evening Trip from a Blue Mountain Chalet

The festival’s own website (which currently shows a browser security warning) and the Owen Sound Tourism listing gives the hours that matter: nightly from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m., downtown and in Harrison Park. December evenings come early, so the displays are glowing by the time a group arrives from Blue Mountain. For the coming season, Owen Sound Tourism lists the lights from Sunday, November 22, 2026 to Sunday, January 10, 2027, with a kick-off on November 21 when the displays are lit for the first time at 7 p.m. The listing describes a stroll along the Sydenham River and through Harrison Park past hundreds of displays.

Until the festival confirms on its own site, treat those dates as the city’s listing and check again before planning a kick-off trip.

Owen Sound is about 62 minutes from 104 Brooker Boulevard by our route data, before traffic and stops, and the road along the bay can be slow in snow. Fewer cars make the trip easier; each chalet has room for four vehicles, and carpooling keeps parking simple at the other end.
