Aerial view of a ski village in winter – How Far Is Blue Mountain From Cambridge, Ontario?
Short answer
Blue Mountain is about 154 kilometres from Cambridge City Hall, roughly two hours and forty minutes of driving before traffic and stops. The fastest computed route runs north without entering Toronto and finishes on County Road 124 near Collingwood. That suits a Friday-to-Sunday trip, so Cambridge groups usually start on the weekend chalet rentals page.

Cambridge to the Blue Mountain chalets without touching the 401 east

We routed from Cambridge City Hall on Dickson Street to 104 Brooker Boulevard: 153.6 kilometres and 162 minutes in free-flowing traffic. The line heads north through the countryside west of the GTA rather than east toward Toronto, which keeps the drive off the busiest 400-series highways. It joins County Road 124 for the final descent toward Collingwood and the Georgian Bay shore.

Neighbouring Kitchener and Waterloo use a similar approach; our Kitchener-Waterloo answer has their figures. Galt, Preston and Hespeler addresses will differ by a few minutes, so check your own start point in a navigation app.

Timing a Friday departure from Cambridge for a 4 p.m. check-in

Blue View's check-in time is 4:00 p.m. A Cambridge group leaving at 12:30 has time for the drive plus a grocery stop in Collingwood, about fifteen minutes before the chalets. Leaving after work means arriving in the evening, which is fine; follow the arrival instructions sent with your reservation.

The two-night minimum fits a standard weekend. If the group wants a full day on the hill without a long drive on either side, add the Sunday night and leave after the 11:00 a.m. check-out on Monday. Our answer on what to do after check-out suggests ways to use that last morning.

Choosing a chalet for a Waterloo Region group

Chalet sizes run from ten guests at Vista, 44L and Aqua Villa up to fourteen at Aurora, Corona, Luna and Prima. Friends who want a sauna can look at Corona or Stella, which have private dry saunas, or Luna and Prima, which have private steam rooms.

The eight Mountain-cluster chalets are a ten-minute walk from Blue Mountain Village, so a car-pooling group can park once and walk to dinner. For a bigger party, see booking several chalets together.

Related questions

Is Highway 401 to Highway 400 faster from Cambridge?

Our computed fastest route avoided that line. On the day, compare the two in a live navigation app; traffic decides.

Is Blue Mountain a day trip from Cambridge?

It can be, at over five hours of round-trip driving. Most groups prefer a chalet night so the drive is not squeezed around a ski day.

Where should a Cambridge group buy groceries?

Collingwood is the usual stop, about fifteen minutes before the chalets on the way in. Shopping there means the first evening can start with a cooked dinner rather than a restaurant wait.

How many cars can a Cambridge group bring?

Each Blue View chalet has four parking spaces. Groups booking two neighbouring chalets in the Mountain cluster get four spaces at each.
