How do you plan a ski weekend around a Blue Mountain chalet?

Snowboarders enjoying a sunny day on the mountain – How to Plan a Ski Weekend Around a Chalet in Ontario
Short answer
Build it from three separate bookings, because Blue View rents the house and nothing else: the chalet, the lift tickets, and any rentals or lessons. Book the chalet first from the ski chalets page, since a two-night weekend runs from 4 p.m. Friday to 11 a.m. Sunday and the dates decide everything after it. Then buy lift access, equipment and lessons directly from Blue Mountain Resort, which sets its own prices and availability, and plan the meals around the chalet kitchen.

The order of operations for a Blue Mountain chalet ski weekend

  1. Fix the headcount and dates. One chalet sleeps 10 to 14; two adjacent chalets take 16 to 28.
  2. Book the chalet. The eight cluster chalets are a 10-minute walk from the Village, which is the shortest way to the lifts.
  3. Buy lift access from the resort. Our answer on whether lessons include lift tickets explains how those products fit together.
  4. Arrange rentals and lessons. See what ski rentals include.
  5. Plan the food. Shop before Friday check-in and cook at least one big dinner.
  6. Count the cars. Each chalet has parking for four vehicles.

A Friday-to-Sunday ski weekend timeline from the chalet

Friday: arrive after 4 p.m., unload, shop if you have not already, and keep the night short; the hot tub is open until 11 p.m. under the Town's licence rules. Saturday: walk to the Village for first chair, lunch on the hill or back at the chalet, then a soak and dinner in. Night skiing is an option for the keen; our night skiing guide covers it. Sunday: checkout is 11 a.m., so either ski early and come back to pack, or pack the cars first and drive to the resort lots. Read resort parking before you choose, and ask us before assuming cars can stay at the chalet after checkout.

What the chalet supplies for a ski weekend, and what it does not

The chalet brings linens and towels, a stocked kitchen, a gas fireplace, a private hot tub, WiFi, and a washer and dryer in the cluster homes for wet base layers. Corona and Stella add a dry sauna, Luna and Prima a steam room. It does not include lift tickets, rentals, lessons or transport to the hill, and there are no bundled weekend packages. The group ski weekend schedule helps split the group by ability. If the group has beginners, book their lesson for Saturday morning so they can ski with everyone else that afternoon.
