Who stays over for a Collingwood Legion celebration
A Legion guest list is rarely the overnight list. Branch 63’s Normandy Room is listed for up to 240 seated guests, but the people who need beds are usually the ones driving two or more hours: siblings, grown children, cousins and their kids. A 90th birthday or a 50th anniversary often becomes a whole weekend for them.
Count that group by household and by night. Forty-odd relatives across four Brooker chalets each get a real bedroom, a kitchen and a place to gather the morning after, and nobody faces a long drive home late at night.
Twenty minutes each way to Ontario Street
The road estimates to 490 Ontario Street are about 20 minutes from all three Blue View addresses: 10.4 km from 104 Brooker Boulevard, 11.1 km from 44L and 12.1 km from Aqua Villa. That is a real drive after an evening event. If the party has bar service, decide who drives each car before it starts, or book rides both ways.
Setup is a separate trip. The Legion confirms access windows for decorations and deliveries, and its current catering page sends large sit-down dinners to an outside licensed caterer. Decide who leaves the chalet early to meet that caterer.
Four-chalet blocks for a Legion reunion weekend
Four adjacent Brooker chalets sleep between 50 and 54, depending on which four. Vega, Corona, Stella and Luna hold 53, with dry saunas in Corona and Stella and a steam room in Luna. Smaller families can use two side-by-side chalets for up to 28.
Day visitors are not permitted, so the chalets cannot become a second venue for local relatives. Keep the after-party to the people registered in each house, and keep it indoors late at night under the Town’s noise bylaw. The family reunion page covers the rest of a weekend like this.
Related questions
How far is the Collingwood Legion from the chalets?
About 20 minutes by road from the Brooker cluster, 44L and Aqua Villa, before traffic and parking.
Can local relatives come back to the chalet after the Legion party?
No. Only registered overnight guests may be on the property.
Which chalet suits grandparents at a Legion reunion weekend?
Aurora puts three queen bedrooms on one floor, so grandparents sleep near the other couples rather than downstairs beside the bunk rooms.
Can we bring leftovers from the Legion back to the chalet?
Yes. Every chalet has a full kitchen with a refrigerator, and the Brooker chalets add a freezer in several houses, so the next day’s lunch is covered.
