Planning a Bruce Trail weekend from one chalet
The Town's map sets out the basics: white blazes mark the main trail and blue blazes the side trails, and bicycles, motorized vehicles and horses are not allowed except where permission is posted. Detailed section maps are on brucetrail.org. The same map marks the trail's highest point, 540 m, inside The Blue Mountains.
Linear hikes need a car shuttle, and each chalet's four parking spaces make that easy: leave one car at the far end, drive everyone to the start. Back at the chalet, the cluster homes have a washer and dryer for muddy socks, every chalet has a hot tub, and Corona, Stella, Luna and Prima add a sauna or steam room. Our Bruce Trail section guide describes the nearby sections in detail.
Choosing the Blue View chalet for a hiking group
Groups of 10 to 14 fit one cluster chalet; up to 28 can take two adjacent ones when both are free, with a kitchen each for early breakfasts. The 44L in Tyrolean Village is about 20 minutes from Petun, and Aqua Villa on the bay is 13 km from Loree Forest, so either works for a smaller party. Fall is the busiest hiking season, so book fall colours weekends early.
