How a youth group stay at the chalets works under the rules

Blue View chalets are family homes in a licensed cluster, not a camp, and a youth group stays within the same rules as any other booking: the person who books and is responsible must be 25 or older, as explained in the minimum age to rent; every chalet has a registered guest maximum of 10 to 14 that counts chaperones and young people alike; only registered overnight guests may be on the property; and the Town of The Blue Mountains noise by-law applies at all hours. A group that fits those rules, with adults sleeping in each chalet, is welcome, and the layout suits it better than most venues.

Chaperone planning by chalet: adults on the main level, youth in the bunk rooms

Each cluster chalet is a three-storey home with the kitchen and living area on the upper level, queen bedrooms on the main level and two bunk rooms on the lower level, so the adults sleep on the floor between the common room and the young people. A five-bedroom chalet sleeping 14 takes, for example, four chaperones in the queen rooms and ten youth in the bunk and lower rooms; a group of 24 to 28 takes two adjacent chalets with its own adults in each. Schools, scouts and church youth weekends at Blue Mountain

A school ski trip uses the cluster’s 10-minute walk to Blue Mountain Resort’s lifts and the group lesson programmes the resort runs; the lift and lesson arrangements a group makes separately are explained in whether ski lessons include lift tickets. A scout or outdoor-education weekend has the Bruce Trail, the Kolapore wilderness trails and the Georgian Bay shore within a short drive; see what’s near 104 Brooker Boulevard. Booking a youth retreat: minimum stays, deposit and the conversation to have first

The standard two-night minimum applies, peak holiday weeks carry three to four, and a refundable security deposit is authorized per chalet at check-in. Because a youth group is a different booking from a family weekend, email the group desk before reserving with the organisation’s name, the number of adults and young people, their ages and the dates, so the chaperone ratio and the chalet count can be confirmed together; the large group rentals page has the capacity ladder.
