Sales Kickoff at Blue Mountain: Chalets, Agenda and Room Maths

A two-night sales kickoff for 30 to 40 people in neighbouring chalets at 104 Brooker Boulevard, a 10-minute walk from Blue Mountain Village. The agenda below is built around the 4:00 pm check-in and 11:00 am check-out, and the bedroom arithmetic for 30 and for 40 comes from the real room lists.

Room maths for a 30- or 40-person sales kickoff

The booking path for a kickoff this size is groups of 40 to 50 or, for about 30, groups of 20 to 30; each chalet in the block is then reserved on its own listing. Count the team two ways before choosing the block, because the answers are far apart.
Kickoff headcountFewest chalets at the licensed limitChalets for one person per bedroom
30Three side by side: Aurora, Vista and Omega sleep 37 in 14 bedroomsSix: Omega through Prima give 30 bedrooms
40Three side by side at exactly 40: Omega, Vega and Corona; four in a row sleep 50 to 54Not possible: the lot has 39 bedrooms, so some colleagues share

The licensed figure is the Town maximum, and it assumes people share queens and the double lower bunks. Most sales teams won’t, so the bedroom column is the realistic one for colleagues. The lot has 23 queen rooms, 14 bunk rooms and 2 twin rooms; a team in which everyone expects a queen to themselves tops out at 23 people even with all eight chalets. Decide who takes the lower-level bunk rooms before the listings are paid for.

A three-day sales kickoff agenda built around check-in and check-out

Day 1, arrival. The chalets open at 4:00 pm, so the first block happens in the Village. 1:00 pm: meet at Blue Mountain Village. 1:30 pm: regions compete at AXED at The Bunker, which runs coached axe throwing and racing simulators and takes group reservations; each experience needs its own time slot. 4:00 pm: check in and unpack by pod. 5:00 pm: the opener. For one room that holds all 40, ask the resort about the Village Conference Centre, which has event spaces across three levels; no chalet has a room that size. 7:00 pm: team dinner at The Alphorn, 5 minutes by car, which takes group-event inquiries for shared dishes, a buffet or a seated menu.

Day 2, the working day. 7:30 am: breakfast in each pod’s kitchen. 8:30 am: territory and pipeline sessions at each chalet’s upper-floor table. Noon: lunch. 1:00 pm: the activity block below. 4:00 pm: awards and the year’s targets, in the event room or split by pod. 7:00 pm: pods cook, or the team walks to the Village. Late: the hot tubs, quietly.

Day 3, commitments. 7:30 am: breakfast. 8:30 am: each rep names the number they own for the next quarter. 10:15 am: dishes, refuse and recycling, bags in the cars. 11:00 am: check-out. On the way home, Side Launch Brewing in Collingwood, 10 minutes from the lot, takes private-event inquiries for its taproom and beer garden.

What a sales team does in Blue Mountain Village between kickoff sessions

The Village is a 10-minute walk from the cluster, and the Day 2 activity block works best as a choice of three, booked ahead. In winter, Blue Mountain Resort’s lifts are part of the same walk, and Big Dipper snow tubing runs at the Village base once its season opens; everyone rides alone and gets in and out of the tube unaided. In the green season, the Skywalk Challenge has two aerial courses of different difficulty, and the Cascade Putting Course plays in groups of up to six, which turns a 36-person team into six putting teams. In any season, Iwa Spa coordinates group appointments for treatments and yoga. A chalet booking includes none of these tickets; the team-building activities guide lists more.

Kickoff logistics: day visitors, noise, parking and screens

Three rules shape a kickoff. Only registered overnight guests may be on the property, so an executive who drives up for the afternoon keynote either takes a bed in one of the chalets or meets the team in the Village. The Town noise by-law applies at every hour, which rules out amplified sound at the fire pits. Each chalet takes four vehicles at most, so 30 people in three chalets have 12 spaces between them: carpool three or more to a car. Every chalet has free WiFi; bring a hotspot for anything that cannot drop. Each lists a smart TV, but ask before booking whether a laptop can connect to it for slides. Six of the eight list dining for ten, so a pod of 13 or 14 eats in two sittings. The corporate retreats page and how a corporate quote works cover the conversation with the team.

Sales kickoff: frequently asked questions

How many chalets does a 35-person sales kickoff need?

Three at the licensed limit, for example Vega, Corona and Stella, which sleep 39. For one person per bedroom, the seven five-bedroom chalets give 35 rooms.

Can the whole sales team meet in one chalet?

Not at 30 or 40. A chalet’s upper floor suits a pod of about ten at the table; for a plenary, ask the resort about a room at the Village Conference Centre.

Can a guest speaker visit for the afternoon?

Only registered overnight guests may be on the property. Register the speaker in one of the chalets or hold that session in the Village.

How many cars can a three-chalet kickoff bring?

Twelve: four per chalet. Parking more than four at one chalet costs part of the security deposit, so plan carpools.

How do we book several chalets for the kickoff?

Any chalets can be booked together when the dates are free. Check each chalet’s live calendar and book each listing, or send the headcount and dates to the team first.
