Spartan Race Blue Mountain 2026: Dates and Where to Stay

Spartan’s Blue Mountain stop is a Trifecta Weekend: the Sprint (5 km, 20 obstacles), the Super (10 km, 25 obstacles) and the Beast (21 km, 30 obstacles) all run on the resort’s slopes over the same two days, and racers who finish all three claim the Trifecta Weekend medal. There is a kids race of one to three kilometres with its own obstacles, and the course uses the mountain itself — long climbs up the ski runs, steep descents and technical trail across more than 30 kilometres of terrain over the weekend, per the organizer.

The organizer lists October 17–18, 2026 at Blue Mountain Resort, 190 Gord Canning Drive, The Blue Mountains. Registration, start waves and the festival area are handled on the official race page; we do not sell entries or packages. The weekend lands the week after Ontario’s Thanksgiving (October 12, 2026) and inside the escarpment’s usual mid-October fall-colour window, so the hillside you are climbing is at its brightest.

The race base is at the resort, and Blue Mountain Village at the base of the hill is a 10-minute walk from our eight chalets at 104 Brooker Boulevard. Racers can leave the car in one of the chalet’s four free spots for the whole weekend and walk to their wave, which matters when the resort lots are busy. Aqua Villa on the bay and the 44L in Tyrolean Village are each about a five-minute drive to the resort.

A Trifecta is two or three races in 36 hours, and the recovery gear is already in the chalet: a private year-round hot tub, a gas fireplace, a full kitchen for the carb load, and — in nine of the ten chalets — an ensuite washer and dryer for a weekend’s worth of mud. October is a shoulder month at the mountain, so standard two-night minimums apply and the calendar is far more open than a ski weekend; a team of eight to fourteen racers fits one chalet, and larger crews spread across two adjacent chalets. Spectators get the Village, the fall-colour drives and the Georgian Bay shore while the racers are on the hill.
