Steakilicious Bonspiel at the Stayner Curling Club: January Team Stays

The club’s bonspiel page marks the Steakilicious as open to all, unlike October’s members-only Sticks and Stones. Format, draw times and entry details were not posted at our review, so call the club on the number listed there. Once the team has a spot, book through our chalets near Stayner page.

We have not seen a menu, so do not assume what the name promises; ask the club what the day includes.

The Steakilicious opens a busy stretch on Oak Street. The same list shows the Stayner Foodland Bonspiel supporting the CGMH on January 23, 2027 and a Triples Bonspiel on February 20, both marked all welcome. A curler with free weekends could make two trips, or a group could plan a longer winter stay.

Our route data puts Stayner about 31 minutes from 104 Brooker Boulevard before traffic and stops, east through Collingwood on Highway 26. The club sits at 255 Oak Street, so check the final turn on a map before a dark January morning.

January 9 is a Saturday. Arrive Friday after the 4 p.m. check-in, curl on Saturday and keep Sunday for skiing at Blue Mountain after the 11 a.m. check-out; two nights also meets the minimum stay. A foursome fits a four-bedroom chalet; two rinks can split a five-bedroom home such as Omega or Vega, each sleeping 13.

Each chalet has a full kitchen, handy if the team cooks its own Saturday dinner, and a private hot tub for stiff shoulders. Our Stayner guide lists what else is in town.
