Meaford Mixed Invitational Bonspiel: A Late-February Curling Weekend

The club’s bonspiel page confirms the date but not the entry process. Unlike the November events, the Mixed Invitational had no online registration button on the club’s event list at our October review, so the first call is to the club or to a member who has played it before. Play starts at 8 a.m. on Saturday, February 27. The club has not posted draw times, so plan to be at 130 Collingwood Street West well before the first rock. Our route data puts Meaford about 31 minutes from 104 Brooker Boulevard before traffic and stops; late-February snow squalls along the bay can stretch that, so build in a cushion.

Meaford has four sheets, so ice time limits the size of the field. The club has not posted an end time; plan dinner back at the chalet rather than a long drive home the same night.

A mixed team plus partners or a few teenagers fits comfortably in Stella, which sleeps 12 and has a private dry sauna; Luna and Prima offer steam rooms instead. Two invited teams from one club can take neighbouring 14-guest chalets and still share Sunday breakfast.
