Dates for the coming season

Tour of the Arts is a free, self-guided studio tour in Thornbury, Clarksburg and Kimberley, supported by the Town of The Blue Mountains. The 2026 fall tour ran October 3 and 4 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. with 12 studios open, some hosting guest artists. Most stops are a short drive from the Blue View chalets, so a painting group or a circle of friends can tour by day and compare notes over one table at night.

Where the Tour of the Arts studios are

An art group that wants to share the weekend under one roof can start with our chalets for art retreats. The 2026 studio list on the tour’s website clustered in three places:

  • Thornbury: Blue Gallery and Kelly Gale Creative on Bruce Street North, Loft Gallery at 18 Bruce Street South, and Farlane Studio with Deborah Masters on Elma Street South.
  • Clarksburg: Marsh Street Gallery, Don Kilby and Jerome Evola on Marsh Street, Sue Tupy at The Clark Gallery on Clark Street, and Tanya Zaryski on Hill Street.
  • Kimberley: Ofra Svorai on Grey Road 13.

Studios can change from year to year, so check the current list before planning stops.

Driving the Tour of the Arts loop from 104 Brooker Boulevard

Our drive-time table puts Thornbury about 17 minutes, Clarksburg about 20 and Kimberley about 32 minutes from the chalets, before traffic and stops. Thornbury and Clarksburg stops can be linked in a morning; Kimberley makes a natural afternoon out through the Beaver Valley. Look for the red and white signs, pick up a brochure at any studio, and use the tour’s Google map.

In 2026 the Autumn Leaves Studio Tour ran October 2 to 4, overlapping the same weekend, which gives a keen group a second route.

Turning the Tour of the Arts into a chalet art retreat

Artists on the tour welcome questions and demonstrate where it suits the work, so a group usually comes back with ideas. A great room and a long dining table give space to lay out sketchbooks or purchases in the evening, and the private hot tub covers the rest. Early October is also prime time for colour; see our fall-colour chalets.

Outside tour weekends, the galleries say they are open year round or by appointment, so a retreat in another month can still include studio visits after a phone call.
