Can we bring two dogs to one Blue View chalet?

A family relaxing together at a mountain cabin – Can We Bring Two Dogs to One Blue View Chalet? | Ontario
Short answer
Possibly, if you ask first. One dog per stay is standard at every Blue View chalet, and at nine of them a second dog may be considered depending on size, with prior confirmation. Aqua Villa’s pet policy lists one dog as standard and does not mention a second. Tell the team both dogs’ sizes before you book a chalet from the pet-friendly chalets.

The second-dog rule at each Blue View chalet

The pet policy on each chalet listing is worded the same way at the eight Brooker chalets and 44L: pets are welcome, there is a pet fee, one dog per stay is standard, and two dogs may be considered depending on size with prior confirmation. Stella’s version adds that owners must tell the team when booking.

Aqua Villa, the waterfront chalet on Highway 26, is the exception. Its policy says one dog per stay is standard and asks owners to respect the property, with no line about a second. If your two dogs are coming to Georgian Bay, raise it before booking rather than assuming the cluster rule applies.

“Considered” is the key word. A second dog is not automatic; it depends on size and on the team confirming it ahead of arrival.

What to send the Blue View team about two dogs

Make the request easy to answer. Send the chalet name and dates, each dog’s breed and weight, and a line on house manners: crate-trained, used to staying off furniture, calm around other dogs. The house rules are strict, so it helps to show you know them: dogs off beds and couches, fur removed from furniture and appliances, leashes on outdoors, and no dogs in the hot tub, pool or steam room. Dog rules inside a chalet lists them.

Wait for the confirmation before booking if the second dog is essential to the trip. Full payment is due at booking, so a yes in writing first is worth more than a refund conversation later.

Two dogs, two chalets: the group alternative

If the answer is one dog per chalet, or if the dogs belong to different households anyway, a group can book two neighbouring chalets and bring one dog to each under the standard allowance. That is also kinder to dogs that do not share space well. See dogs on a two-chalet booking and the wider pets and size limits answer.

Is there a weight limit for the second dog?

The chalet policies say a second dog may be considered depending on size, without giving a figure. Send both dogs’ weights and the team will confirm.

Each listing says there is a pet fee. Ask the team how it applies to a second dog when you request confirmation.

Can both dogs use the backyard off leash?

No. Dogs must be leashed at all times outdoors, including in the chalet’s own yard.

Can we bring a cat instead?

The chalet policies are written for dogs. Ask the team before booking about any other pet.
