What are the dog rules inside a Blue View chalet?

A family relaxing together at a mountain cabin – Dog Rules Inside a Blue View Chalet | Blue Mountains
Short answer
Three rules cover the inside of the chalet. Dogs stay off the beds and couches; owners remove all fur from furniture and appliances before they leave; and pets never go in the hot tub, the shared pool or a steam room. The first two carry a fee if broken, and the third forfeits the full deposit. Every chalet on the pet-friendly chalets page follows the same policy.

Beds, couches and fur: Blue View’s indoor dog rules

The pet section of the policies starts indoors. Dogs must stay off beds and couches, and pet owners must remove all fur from furniture and appliances. Each chalet’s listing repeats the idea in its own words: respect the furniture and manage the shedding clean-up. Breaking those rules brings a fixed fee, separate from the pet fee charged for bringing a dog at all.

The rule is about beds and couches, not rooms. A dog sleeping on its own bed on the bedroom floor, or on a blanket by the gas fireplace, is within it; a dog curled on the sectional is not. For a dog that is used to the sofa at home, that is worth practising before the trip.

Hot tubs, steam rooms and the pool are closed to dogs

The second half of the indoor rules is about water and heat. Pets cannot access pools, hot tubs or steam rooms, and the policy sets the forfeiture at the full deposit amount. In practice that means:

  • the private hot tub at every chalet, all year;
  • the steam saunas at Luna and Prima, and the steam shower at Aqua Villa;
  • the shared heated pool at 104 Brooker Boulevard, open from May to mid-September.

Keep the dog off the hot tub deck when the tub is in use, and inside when children head for the pool deck. Our outdoor space answer covers the yards.

Packing for a dog that follows the chalet rules

Bring the dog’s own bed and a couple of old blankets so it has somewhere comfortable that is not the couch. Pack a lint roller or pet brush for the fur check on the last morning, towels for muddy paws after a walk, and the usual bowls, food and leash. If the dog sheds heavily, a quick daily sweep is easier than one big clean before the 11:00 am check-out. The dog-friendly guide to the area covers where to take the dog during the day.

Related questions

Can the dog sleep in our bedroom?

The rule keeps dogs off beds and couches. It does not ban them from bedrooms, so a dog bed on the floor is fine.

Is the fur fee the same as the pet fee?

No. The pet fee is charged for bringing a dog. The fur and furniture fee applies only if the rules are broken.

Can the dog use the sauna at Corona or Stella?

Keep it out. The policy names steam rooms, and a sauna is no place for a dog in any case.
