Craigleith to Collingwood road distances, stop by stop
These are road estimates from Aqua Villa, rounded up to the next five minutes, with no allowance for traffic, parking or a slow Saturday on Highway 26:
- Collingwood Museum, 45 St. Paul Street: 10.7 km, about 15 minutes
- Hurontario Street restaurants such as Tesoro: about 11 km, about 15 minutes
- Harbourview Park and the Arboretum: 9.7 to 9.9 km, about 15 minutes
- Eddie Bush Memorial Arena: 10.8 km, about 15 minutes
- Galaxy Cinemas on Mountain Road: 9.1 km, about 15 minutes
- Collingwood Harbour launch ramps on Heritage Drive: 11.6 km, about 20 minutes
The drive back after dinner is the same distance, so the group needs a driver who is not drinking; Collingwood is not a walk from anywhere on the Craigleith shore.
Cycling the Georgian Trail from Craigleith into Collingwood
The car-free route is the Georgian Trail. The Town's 2025 trail map describes it as built on an old railway line, running from Meaford through The Blue Mountains to Collingwood, and relatively flat, which the Town says makes it accessible for strollers and wheelchairs. In Collingwood it meets the waterfront at Harbourview Park, where a wetland boardwalk and the Arboretum paths start.
We have not measured the trail distance from the villa's door, so check the Town's map before promising younger riders a short outing; treat it as a morning ride with a café stop rather than a way to get to a dinner reservation.
Fitting Collingwood into a stay on the Craigleith shore
Most groups go into town twice: once for groceries on arrival day and once for a meal or the harbour. Saturday mornings add the Collingwood farmers' market to the grocery run. If the group is bigger than Aqua Villa's ten beds, the cluster chalets at 104 Brooker Boulevard are an equally short drive, and our answer on how far the chalets are from downtown Collingwood covers that base. Whether the shore is the right base at all is weighed in is Craigleith a good area to stay.
Related questions
Which Blue View chalet is closest to downtown Collingwood?
By road the cluster at 104 Brooker Boulevard is slightly closer (9.1 km to the Collingwood Museum) than Aqua Villa (10.7 km). Both work out at about 15 minutes.
Does the drive take longer on busy weekends?
Yes. Highway 26 slows on long-weekend Friday evenings and on ski-season weekends, so allow extra time for a dinner booking.
Is there a walking route from Craigleith to Collingwood?
The Georgian Trail connects them, but the road distance alone is about 10 km, so treat it as a bike outing rather than an evening stroll.
