An early start to find Pretty River parking
Ontario Parks asks visitors to use designated parking only and to come back another time when the park is full. For a group, that means arriving early in as few cars as possible. Carpool from the chalet and leave the extra vehicles in its four spaces.
The estimates to 635397 Pretty River Road are 16.7 km from 104 Brooker Boulevard, 17.3 km from 44L and 19.7 km from Aqua Villa. Agree on a second destination before leaving, so a full lot changes the plan rather than ending the day. The hiking trails guide lists alternatives.
Hikers and mountain bikers use different Pretty River entrances
Hikers go to Pretty River Road. Riders go to the 6th Sideroad / 2nd Line access, and Ontario Parks describes the northern riding network as advanced single-track. A mixed group needs two meeting points, two navigation routes and a time to regroup. The mountain bike groups page covers riders’ stays.
In autumn, check Ontario Parks’ hunting-season guidance for your dates before setting out.
What the chalet supplies that Pretty River does not
With no facilities in the park, the chalet becomes the kit room. Pack lunches and water in the kitchen, use the bathroom before leaving, and come back to hot showers and a private hot tub. Corona and Stella each have a dry sauna for tired legs. Wet boots and muddy bikes need a plan, so ask the property team where gear can go before bringing it inside.
A hiking club of 20 to 26 fits two neighbouring Brooker chalets, such as Stella and Luna. Camping is not permitted in the park, so a multi-day visit needs a bed somewhere nearby.
A two-night hiking club weekend around Pretty River
Arrive at 4:00 pm on the first day, shop and prepare lunches. Walk Pretty River early on the full day, when parking is most likely, and keep the afternoon for the sauna or a second short walk. The last morning ends with an 11:00 am check-out, so plan only a short outing before the drive home. The Bruce Trail section guide covers other walks nearby.
