A stag and doe is the Ontario pre-wedding fundraiser: a ticketed party with games, a bar and prizes, usually in a hall. If the couple's friends are spread between Toronto and Collingwood, holding it near Blue Mountain and turning it into a weekend is a sensible plan, provided the two parts are kept separate. The chalet houses the wedding party; the hall hosts the fundraiser. Book the house on the stag and doe weekend chalets page.
The stag and doe itself needs a hall, not a chalet
Only registered overnight guests may be on a Blue View property, and the chalets have quiet hours; a 150-ticket fundraiser is not a chalet event. Can you host a party at a Blue Mountain chalet? gives the straight answer, and the quiet-hours answer gives the rules. Halls within a short drive that take private events include the Collingwood Legion event rooms, the Marsh Street Centre in Clarksburg, the Beaver Valley Community Centre and Meaford Hall. Bar service, raffle licensing and capacity are the hall's and the municipality's questions; ask them early.
Who stays at the chalet on a stag and doe weekend
The couple, the wedding party and the out-of-town friends who are running the games: typically ten to fourteen people. The guest list is the house list, so settle it before booking. The bachelorette weekend chalet ranking applies almost unchanged: The Stella for a two-single room and a sauna, The Luna or The Prima for fourteen with a steam sauna, The Aurora for three queen bedrooms on one floor. Larger wedding parties take two adjacent chalets; the two-chalets page explains how.
A stag and doe weekend timetable
Friday: check in at 4 pm, prep the prize table and the games at the chalet, dinner in the Village a 10-minute walk away. Saturday: set up the hall in the afternoon, run the fundraiser in the evening, and arrange a designated driver or a booked car for the return; see whether Uber and taxis operate at Blue Mountain. Sunday: a late breakfast, the hot tub (eight at a time), the count-up, and an 11 am checkout. The bachelor and bachelorette guide has the activity list if the party stays a second night.
Hall logistics: capacity, bar and raffle licensing
The hall sets the capacity and runs or licenses the bar; raffles and prize draws in Ontario are licensed through the municipality, and that paperwork belongs to the organizers and the hall, not to the chalet. Ask the hall three questions before selling a ticket: how many people it holds, who runs the bar, and what the licence requires for the games. The Collingwood Legion and Marsh Street Centre pages carry the venues' own contact details.
Transport between the hall and the chalet
Each cluster chalet has four parking spots, which is enough for the wedding party's cars but not for a fundraiser's. Guests drive to the hall and go home from the hall. For the wedding party's own return, book a car or name drivers; whether Uber and taxis operate at Blue Mountain explains what is available at midnight. The Village is a 10-minute walk from the cluster for a Friday dinner that needs no driving at all.
Prizes, games and the chalet as the back office
The chalet's dining table seats ten and the kitchen island (Corona, Luna, Prima, 44L) is where the prize table gets sorted on Friday night and the cash is counted on Sunday morning. Keep the prizes in the cars or the lower-level bunk rooms rather than the living room, and keep the count-up to the people on the booking. The split-payment answer explains how the wedding party shares the chalet cost, which is separate from the fundraiser's takings.
If the fundraiser is elsewhere: a plain bachelor or bachelorette weekend
When the stag and doe is held closer to home, the Blue Mountain weekend becomes the bachelor or bachelorette trip instead: the bachelor party chalets and bachelorette chalets pages are the owners of those stays, and the bachelorette chalet ranking picks the house. The same house rules apply: registered guests only, quiet hours, eight in the hot tub, a $500 deposit authorized at check-in.
What to tell the ticket-buyers
Put the hall's address on the ticket, not the chalet's, and say plainly that the after-party is not at the house. Guests who want to stay over can book their own chalet on the same property; the weddings page and the wedding venues roundup cover the bigger picture when the stag and doe is the first of several wedding weekends in the area.
