Where a Collingwood hot tub rental actually sits: The Blue Mountains, next door

No Blue View chalet is inside Collingwood. All ten are in The Blue Mountains, the town next door, and each has a private hot tub on its own deck that only the booked group uses, in every season. Choose the home on its chalet page, for example Omega, whose tub looks up at the ski hill, or Aqua Villa, whose tub sits on a balcony facing the bay, and reserve it on its own listing with a live calendar (Omega’s listing, for one). The drive times below are the routes checked for each Collingwood place guide, before traffic and parking.

A Collingwood day planned around getting back to the hot tub

Most hot-tub groups use Collingwood for the daytime and come back to the chalet for the evening. In the warm months the day starts at the water. The Town lists the harbour’s boating season as April 1 to October 31, with public launch ramps on Heritage Drive; launch access, parking and any mooring are arranged with the Town, not through the chalet. Collingwood Charters runs sightseeing, sunset and event cruises aboard the Huronic from the waterfront, and Whites Bay Park, on the west side of the harbour, connects to a boardwalk along the breakwall for a walk as long as the weather allows.

In winter the day moves downtown. The Collingwood Museum on St. Paul Street listed Tuesday-to-Saturday hours of 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at its last review. The Historic Gayety Theatre on Hurontario Street asks ticket holders to arrive at least twenty minutes before the show, so leave with parking time to spare. Side Launch Brewing on Mountain Road is the nearest stop in the table, 10 minutes from the cluster; agree on who drives back before the first round. By the time the group is home, the tub is waiting.

Hot tub rules a Collingwood weekend group should read before booking

The tub comes with the same rules as the rest of the chalet, and three of them catch Collingwood groups out. First, only registered overnight guests may be on the property, so friends who live in town or are staying at a Collingwood hotel cannot drop by for a soak; day visitors are prohibited. Second, Blue View adopts the Town of The Blue Mountains noise by-law around the clock, and voices carry from an outdoor tub on a still night, so late soaks should be quiet ones. Third, nobody smokes in the chalets, hot tubs or steam rooms, and pets may not use the hot tubs, the pool or the steam rooms. All three, with the deposit consequences, are on the rental policies page. How many people fit in one tub is answered in how many people fit in the chalet hot tubs, and cold-weather use in whether the tubs stay open in winter.

Choosing the tub: hill view, bay view or a sauna beside it

Every tub is private, so the choice comes down to what surrounds it. Omega’s tub has an unobstructed view of the ski hill. Aqua Villa’s is on a balcony facing Georgian Bay, with an indoor steam shower inside and four bathrooms for ten guests. For heat in two forms, Corona and Stella have a private dry sauna, and Luna and Prima a private steam room, each alongside its own tub; the set is compared on chalets with a sauna. From May to mid-September the eight Brooker chalets also share a heated outdoor pool. A Collingwood group larger than 14 books two adjacent chalets and gets two tubs; the pairings are on two chalets for 16 to 28.
