Confirmed dates

The Tea Cup Bonspiel is the Curling Club of Collingwood’s November invitational, and the club calendar places it on Saturday, November 14, 2026. Each draw mixes four home-club teams with eight out-of-town teams, and every team plays one eight-end and one six-end game. A visiting rink that wants Friday night in town can share a chalet about 15 minutes from the club.

Entry rules for out-of-town teams at the Tea Cup Bonspiel

The Tea Cup event page asks every out-of-town team to include at least two players from its own club, while home teams need four Collingwood members. The page gives April 1 at 9 a.m. as the registration opening, so a team arriving late in the year should expect the waitlist; a curler without a team can sign up for the spare list. When the entry is confirmed, our curling bonspiel chalets page compares homes for one foursome or several.

How the Tea Cup Bonspiel draws fill a Saturday

The club runs two draws, each with four home teams and eight visitors. Every team plays one eight-end game and one six-end game, and entry is paid when you register. The November club calendar blocks the ice from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m., so expect an early first draw and a long, social day at the rink.

Arriving on Friday spares the team a pre-dawn drive from the city. Chalet check-in starts at 4 p.m., which leaves Friday evening for a team dinner and an early night.

Where a Tea Cup Bonspiel rink sleeps near Blue Mountain

The Curling Club of Collingwood on Hume Street is about 15 minutes from the Brooker chalets by our route data. One foursome has room to spare in a 14-guest chalet; the four-bedroom Vista, which sleeps 10, suits two visiting rinks travelling together. A club sending three or four teams can book neighbouring chalets on Brooker Boulevard.

Each chalet has a private hot tub and a full kitchen. On the same Saturday the Meaford Curling Club’s 150th Anniversary Bonspiel runs in Meaford, so a club with extra players can split between the two.
