The college friends reunion, from group chat to booked chalet

  1. Pick dates with a poll, then stop polling. Two nights is the minimum; arrival from 4:00 pm, departure by 11:00 am.
  2. Count who sleeps where. Couples need queens; friends who came alone want single beds. Each five-bedroom chalet has three queens, so a reunion with five couples needs two chalets, not one.
  3. Choose the chalets. Up to fourteen in Aurora; ten in Vista; or both side by side as Aurora and Vista for 24.
  4. Book each chalet on its live calendar, such as Aurora’s, then collect the shares; see splitting group trip costs.

Room politics at a college friends reunion

Twenty years on, nobody wants the top bunk by default. Assign rooms before arrival and post the plan in the chat. Aurora puts three queens on the main level; Omega and Vega each have two there and a third downstairs, which suits the couple with a toddler near the bunk rooms. Vista’s and Stella’s twin rooms have two single beds for two friends who came alone. Every lower double bunk sleeps two only if two people agree to share it, so a reunion of friends without partners lands below the licensed number: nine separate beds in Omega or Vega, eight in Vista or Stella. The bunk-room assignments guide settles the rest.

The college friends reunion night out and night in

One night is usually the Village: Blue Mountain Village is a 10-minute walk from the cluster, so nobody drives, and walking to the Village bars and restaurants covers the route. The other night is in: a long dinner upstairs, the playlist from the year you all met, the hot tub. The noise by-law applies at all hours, to music and voices on the balcony and in the hot tub alike, and a noise complaint forfeits the full deposit, which settles any argument about volume after midnight. Old friends who live nearby still need to be registered guests to come over; day visitors are not permitted.

A college friends reunion that is not a ski trip

Plenty of reunions happen in summer or fall. The Open-Air Gondola and the Ridge Runner Mountain Coaster are 5 minutes away at the resort; AXED at The Bunker in the Village does coached axe throwing; Side Launch Brewing in Collingwood, 10 minutes, has a taproom and beer garden; Georgian Bowl’s twelve five-pin lanes in Collingwood, 20 minutes, take group bookings. In summer the pool at 104 Brooker Boulevard is open May to mid-September. A reunion with a planned dinner for a bigger class belongs on alumni reunion weekend chalets, and the friends reunion weekend guide has an itinerary.

College friends reunions: frequently asked questions

How many college friends fit one chalet?

Up to 14 in Aurora, Corona, Luna or Prima if couples share queens and two friends share each double lower bunk. Counting one bed each, nine is the most.

Can we walk to the bars from the reunion chalet?

Yes. Blue Mountain Village is about a 10-minute walk from the eight cluster chalets.

Can a friend who lives nearby come over for the evening?

Only as a registered overnight guest. Blue View does not permit day visitors.

How do we split the reunion chalet cost?

One friend books and pays in full at reservation, then collects each share from the group.

Which reunion chalets sit side by side for a bigger friend group?

All eight cluster chalets are adjacent at 104 Brooker Boulevard. Aurora and Vista sleep 24 together, and Omega and Vega sleep 26.
