Plan the visit and the stay

Woodview is Blue Mountain’s 1.1-kilometre mountaintop skating loop, reached via the Scenic Caves Road summit area. It suits a winter chalet itinerary with skating as its own outing. Confirm the operating day, admission terms and equipment needs before driving up; the reviewed attraction page currently shows a seasonal closure.

Travel to Woodview’s summit access instead of the Village square

Non-skiers should plan the Scenic Caves Road approach and use the resort’s mountaintop map. A generic Village destination leaves you at a different elevation and does not finish the skating journey.

Share the summit plan with any second vehicle before departure. If members of the party are skiing separately, specify where and when the groups will reunite. The three-day winter plan helps keep those separate outings manageable.

Prepare the Woodview skating party before leaving the chalet

Skate rentals are offered. The resort prefers hockey skates and permits figure skates provided their toe picks are not used on the trail. Check sizing and current helmet or assistance requirements with the operator when arranging the visit.

Walking along the skating trail is not permitted, so someone who does not skate needs a different plan. The general spectator restriction also matters when a grandparent wants only to watch. Other winter activities can fill that person’s afternoon without requiring everyone to follow the same schedule.

Confirm the Woodview ticket before setting the return time

Ask about the discrepancy in the published session descriptions and follow the terms for the product you buy. Also check final admission: the activity page says ticket sales stop within an hour of closing.

Use the confirmed session to set transport and dinner timing. The chalet guest’s ticket guide keeps accommodation and activity access distinct. Leave some room to return earlier if the skating party has had enough.
