A party of about 20 takes two neighbouring chalets: one hosts the dinner, the other keeps its bedrooms quiet. Adjacent pairs sleep 24 to 28. Corona and Luna each have two gas fireplaces.

Who is on the holiday party guest list, and how many chalets 20 people need

Start on two chalets for 16 to 28, which lists the side-by-side pairs, then reserve both chalets on their own listings. The guest list is the overnight list. Only registered overnight guests may be on the property, so a partner who comes only for dinner, or a manager who plans to drive home after the toast, counts as a day visitor and cannot attend. The minimum stay is two nights, which makes this a weekend or two midweek nights rather than one evening.

Partners change the maths again. Ten couples who each want a queen room need four five-bedroom chalets, because three give only nine queens.

A holiday party weekend agenda, Friday to Sunday

Friday. 1:00 pm: meet in the Village and paint at Crock A Doodle. A painting reservation lasts 75 minutes, groups of nine or more call the studio to book, and the fired pieces are usually ready after 4 p.m. the following day. 4:00 pm: check in. 7:00 pm: dinner out at The Alphorn, 5 minutes by car, which handles group menus, or a simple first night in the two kitchens. Then the hot tubs.

Saturday. Morning: a winter outing, chosen below. 4:30 pm: collect the pottery on the walk back through the Village. 6:30 pm: the party itself in the host chalet, with food ordered earlier in the week. Gift exchange by the fire.

Sunday. A slow breakfast, dishes, refuse and recycling out, and check-out by 11:00 am.

On Saturday, December 12, 2026, the Thornbury BIA’s Olde Fashioned Christmas runs on Bruce Street, about 17 minutes away, with programme times to be confirmed. Holiday Magic in the Village ran from mid-November to early January last season; check this season’s dates.

Winter outings for a holiday party group at Blue Mountain

December options depend on the resort’s season, so confirm each one before promising it. Big Dipper snow tubing at the Village base needs its winter operating dates posted, and each person rides a tube alone. Woodview Mountaintop Skating is a 1.1-kilometre loop at the top of the escarpment, about 10 minutes’ drive from the cluster, and is seasonal too. Indoors and in any weather, AXED at The Bunker offers coached axe throwing and racing simulators, and Iwa Spa books treatments and yoga for groups through its group team. None of these is included with the chalets.

Holiday party food that needs notice, and the party rules at the chalets

Each chalet has a full kitchen with an oven and a propane barbecue, so the party dinner can be cooked in or picked up. Three local orders need planning. The Cheese Gallery in Thornbury needs at least 24 hours’ notice for cheese and charcuterie boards, more on weekends, and asks about allergies on its order form. Thornbury Bakery Café takes custom cake and catering inquiries and closes on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day. Goldsmith’s Orchard Market on Highway 26 sells prepared meals with online pickup and local delivery; confirm delivery to the chalet address. Six of the eight chalets list dining for ten, so 20 people eat buffet-style or across two tables.

The party stays inside the rules. The Town noise by-law applies around the clock, so music stays indoors and low; fireworks are prohibited; nobody smokes inside or in the hot tubs.
